To celebrate our first anniversary, Begoña Villacís will join us again at a new InnoDay that will take place on 10 March, to celebrate the progress made during the first year of the MAD FinTech cluster. A year that has been difficult for all of us, but in which we have not stopped working a single day – remotely and with restrictions and security measures – to promote the FinTech sector and the more than 100 member companies.
Begoña Villacís, Deputy Mayor of Madrid, was the godmother at the birth of the Madrid FinTech Capital cluster on 19 February 2020. One year later, it is time to celebrate the first birthday, take stock and analyse the development of the reinvention of banking: digital banking, FinTech, Sandbox, Brexit, open banking… And for this purpose, Foro ECOFIN and MAD FinTech will hold an InnoDay on 10 March in which we will have our godmother.
Begoña Villacís was the exceptional godmother of the historic presentation of the Madrid FinTech Capital (MAD FinTech) cluster, on the unforgettable 19th February 2020, when Foro ECOFIN and the Madrid City Council managed to bring together more than 300 Finance and Innovation professionals in the Auditorium of the Palacio de Cibeles.
Results and success
During this year, the MAD FinTech cluster has set up 15 Commissions and 5 Working Groups, has managed to reach collaboration agreements with several companies and has even set up a Project Board to guide member companies to apply for NextGenerationEU European funds. In addition, training, co-creation and participation have been promoted, and the foundations of the international network have been laid in Europe and Latin America, as well as connections with other economies of the future such as India and China.
On 10 March, InnoDay will once again be the forum that will bring together FinTech leaders and the cluster that is changing the history of Finance. More details will be revealed soon – stay tuned.
